FAQ

Farmers Market

We visit the Tarrytown, Piermont, Cropsey and Hudson Valley Farm & Flea markets. Please check our schedule here.

Preorders must be placed by noon on the Wednesday preceding the market. At checkout, click the "pickup" option and then select the market location you'll be picking up at.

Yes! If you visit us at one of our markets, we're always sampling a selection of our jams (see schedule here)

Pickup and Shipping

As a home processor, we're legally only allowed to sell within New York State; however, you can place an order for pickup at our kitchen in West Nyack or one of our farmers markets (Market Schedule).

When you select free local pickup for your order you will be prompted to either pickup at our kitchen location in West Nyack or at one of our farmers markets. Our kitchen is located at 268 Old Mill Road, West Nyack, New York.

No, a unique order must be placed for each unique shipping (or pickup) location.

Shipping is free on orders of $50 or more. Shipping rates for orders under $50 are calculated in real time by our carrier at the point of checkout and will vary based on the total product weight, destination and current rates.

Your order is shipped the same day it is baked to ensure you get the freshest product possible. Orders place before Thursday (we never ship on a Friday because we don't want our perishables sitting in a UPS warehouse) will ship within three days of the order being placed.

Product Info

All of our jams are come from Fishkill Farms, The Orchards of Conklin and Hellers Farm except for our marmalades and Muscat grape jellies (these fruits do not grow locally, but we think they're too delicious not to preserve in a jar!).

A jelly is the fruit's juice mixed with pectin to give it that classic jelly texture; a jam is a spread that includes both the juice and pieces of fruit. Our strawberry jam is a classic example of this where we leave whole pieces of strawberries in the confiture. A marmalade is made from citrus varieties and includes both the flesh and rind of the citrus, giving marmalade its classic bitter-sweet flavor.

Yes, some of our products freeze beautifully, and we've denoted that with a "freezer friendly" icon in the product description. You can find a full list of them here. It's a great way to make sure you always have some Birdie's Batch on hand.

For baked goods, it's best to eat the product within two days of receiving your order. If it's a very moist product (i.e. pumpkin bread or ricotta cake), you can extend the shelf life by keeping it in the fridge or freezer.

Yes! Under each bakery item, we've tagged it with a "gluten-free" icon if the item does not include gluten. You can also use the search bar and type in "gluten-free" to find all our gluten free products or click here

All our clear bags are made from cellophane. We only use paper cake boxes and our packaging material is recycled styrofoam.
